Lorraine V. Marvig

Lorraine V. Marvig, age 80, of Hawley, MN, passed away on May 18, 2019, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.

Lorraine Viola Christenson was born on May 10, 1939 to Sivert and Hilda Christenson in rural Lake Park, MN. After her mom passed, she was adopted by Selmer and Clara Mayfield at the age of 3. Lorraine went to school at Woodland District #3 until she started at Hawley High School in 9^th grade. She married the love of her life, Joseph Marvig, on October 6, 1956. Joe and Lorraine settled on the farm by Rollag, MN and lived there since. She worked at American Linen in Fargo, ND for over 30 years. She was an active member of H.E.R.T. and also an active/founding member of Rollag Seniors. She was a lifelong member of Rollag Lutheran Church. Lorraine just celebrated her 80^th birthday but lately suffered from health issues.

Lorraine enjoyed time with family and friends. She loved the many dogs she had over the years. She loved crocheting, stamping, and being creative.

Lorraine was proceeded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph; daughter, Crystal; half-brother, Warren Doran; half-sister, Jean Macelroy; brothers, Clifford and Alfred; and sisters, Mertyl, Pearl, and Leona.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Kip Marvig of Hawley; and daughter, LaShel Marvig of Blaine, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hawley Emergency and Rescue Team (H.E.R.T.).

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service starting at 7:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag.
