Lorrie Schultz, 46, of Fargo, ND, died at home June 5, 2006 after a six year battle with Colon Cancer. Lorrie was born September 16, 1959 at the Mayville Hospital in Mayville, ND, son of Lloyd and Margaret Gulbranson Schultz. He grew up in Portland, ND and graduated from May-Port High School. Lorrie received his Associate Arts Degree in Accounting at Mayville State University graduating in 1979. Lorrie married Mary Shilts on May 10, 1980 in Spooner, WI. They lived in Grand Forks, ND where he worked for an accounting firm and then as an Office Manager at Valley Plumbing. He later worked as a custodian at Central High and Viking Elementary Schools while attending the University Of North Dakota. He is known for his jokes, love, kindness and his talent for making each day fresh and new by sharing his humor with everyone. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992 and worked at Heart of America Medical Center, Rugby, ND, Trinity Nursing Home, Minot, ND, Barnesville Good Samaritan Center, Barnesville, MN and in 1999 began working at the Fargo Veteran's Hospital. Lorrie has spent many years working with youth in Sunday School and as a Bowling Coach and he also bowled on leagues in Minot and Red River Lanes in Fargo. Mary and Lorrie were blessed to adopt Thomas in 1988 while living in Grand Forks, ND and in 1999 adopted Tyler after they moved to Fargo. Lorrie loved his family, friends and working at the VA Hospital caring for and honoring those who have served his country. His humor and infectious smile brightened the day of those he cared for or worked with. He will be greatly missed. Lorrie is survived by his wife, Mary, their children Thomas and Tyler, both at home; his parents, Lloyd and Margaret Schultz, Portland, ND; brothers, Lydell Peggy Schultz, Mayville, ND, Wendell Schultz, Portland, ND, Korey Tammy Schultz, Waconia, MN; sisters, Adonica Robert Schultz Aune, Grand Forks, ND, Karen Jerry Srur, Nucla, CO, Shari Dan Schneider, Crete, NE, family members and friends.
