Louann Delaine (Reek) Underdahl

LouAnn Delaine Underdahl, 87 of Mentor, MN passed away August 31, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

LouAnn Delaine Reek was born May 16, 1934 to Cornelius and Pearl (Hanson) Reek in Erskine, MN (Township of Badger). As a child she lived in Erskine, MN. She attended Erskine Public School where she graduated. LouAnn went to nurses training at Crookston School of Nursing and graduated May of 1953. She worked at Bethesda Hospital in Crookston, St. Lukes in St. Paul, Pioneer Nursing Home in Erskine and then Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN in 1966 until early retirement.

She was united in marriage Harvey Joseph Underdahl on June 1, 1955 in Crookston, MN. After their marriage they lived in St. Paul, Auroa, Erskine, and they farmed in Fertile area of Woodside Township until moving to Mentor in 1971. LouAnn helped with farming, raising the farm animals of all kinds. She raised chickens to can, had a big garden to can all vegetables while raising six kids. She enjoyed bingo every year at the fair with family, her flower gardens, canning, cooking, baking and making new recipes. Harvey passed away in March of 2000. LouAnn continued living in Mentor until moving into Fertile Assisted Living in Fertile.

Survivors include children, Gwen (Curtis) Kelly, Glen Underdahl, Gail Hoffman, and Genene (Luke) Swenson; other relative, Karen Bachmeier and Patty Underdahl; grandchildren, Robert, Jason, Christopher, Sarah, Bridgette, Joshua, Felicia, Gene, Mindy, Rodney, Marilyn, and Lillian; great grandchildren, Natalie, Emma, Nickolaus, James, Barrett, Tanner, Ellie, Aiden, Aubrey, Kadence, Bennett, Clayton, Sara, Lilah, and Cooper; one sister Sharon Melbo; one brother James Reek; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Gary, George, Shelly Ann; her parents, Cornelius and Pearl Reek; sister Donna McGlynn; and brother Kenneth Reek.

A private family service will be held at later date. Memorials preferred to Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor, MN.
