Lowell Harlan Ness

Lowell Harlan Ness, 82, of Lake Park, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, September 26, 2023, in his home in Lake Park.

Lowell was born on April 19, 1941, to Edwin and Hilda (Anderson) Ness in Cormorant Township, Becker County, MN. Lowell grew up in the Lake Park, Cormorant area, graduating from Lake Park High School, living in Lake Park all his life. He was united in marriage to Carol Mae Erickson on July 20, 1962, in Park Lutheran Church. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 working for various construction companies in the area as a heavy equipment operator. He also volunteered for the Lake Park Fire Department for many years.

Lowell was a member of the Midnight Riders snowmobiling club. He loved winter activities, such as snowmobiling and ice fishing, and also enjoyed camping and working on small engines.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Carol Mae; four daughters, Shelaine (Rahul Bhatt) Ness, Brenda (Scott) Fradet, DeAnna Motschenbacher, and Cari (Nathan) Nesje; grandchildren, Rashad, Nadine, Tim, Shianne, Henry, and Sen; siblings, Paulette (Ron) Foss, Harold (Diane) Ness, and Harvey Ness; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Hilda; and his siblings, Irene, Gail, and Arvid.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN. A livestream of the service will be available here on Lowell's webpage. Burial will be at Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
