Ludwig Radeck, 89, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.Ludwig Adolph Radeck was born June 12, 1915, north of Hawley, Minnesota, to Charles and Mary Dersien Radeck. He grew up and attended school in Hawley. Ludwig was married to Agnes Larson June 14, 1941 at Hawley, Minnesota. They resided in Hawley from 1941 to 1946, where he worked for Burns Motor Company, then moved to Horace, North Dakota, where he worked as a mechanic. In 1950 they moved to Moorhead, Minnesota where he worked for American Crystal Sugar Company until his retirement in 1977, and then returned to Hawley. Agnes died December 11, 1992. Ludwig married Winifred Christoffers on February 26, 1994. Following their marriage they resided on a farm north of Lake Park, Minnesota, and in 2001 moved to Hawley. Ludwig was a musician, carpenter, golfer, mechanic and machinist.He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.Ludwig is survived by his wife, Winifred Radeck, Fargo, ND; stepdaughter, January Andy Fugle, Fargo, ND; several nieces and nephews; seven step grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren.
