Luella Laske, age 102, left this earthly life at Eventide Fargo on Feb 17, 2020, with her son, David at her side.
Luella was born Sept 27, 1917 to Harry & Amelia (Dobrinz) Jones. She grew up in the Davenport/Mapleton area.
She married Gerhard (Garry) Laske Dec 26, 1936. They resided in Addison & had 4 children – Walter, Diane, David & Janice. They moved to Graceville, MN in 1950 & purchased what became Laske Food Market. Luella worked at the store until 1975 when she sold the store & her house with it’s amazing flower gardens she had grown & cared for.
She enjoyed her retirement, travelling & playing golf in the early years. In the later years she enjoyed being in her home reading, doing cross stitch, crocheting & word puzzles.
She was an amazing woman who lived more life than most of us could wish for.
She’s survived by son, David Laske; grandchildren, Jeffrey Laske, Cindy (Craig) Oldenburg, Kristi (Greg) Biedler, Laurie O’Malley, Mike Laske, Dennis (Peggy) Duffield, Candi Holcomb, Michelle (Laurie) Thalacker, Chris (Christa) Thalacker, 16 great grandchildren & 12 great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents Harry & Amelia Jones; husband, Garry Laske; children, Walter Laske, Diane (Alan) Duffield & Janice (Kent) Thalacker; siblings, Carmie (Laura) Jones, Gordon (Aileen) Jones, Arthur Jones, Mildred (Marlow) Foss, Joanne (Jim) Wilson & Marvin Jones; grandchildren, Stanley Duffield, Ronald Thalacker & Donald Thalacker.
Visitation will be Friday, February 21, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Funeral will be Saturday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m., in Shepherd of the Prairie Church, Fargo, ND.
Interment will be at Graceville Cemetery, Graceville, MN, at a later date.
