Lyle C. Lindberg, age 74, of Fargo, ND passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at his home under the care of Sanford Hospice.
Lyle Curtis Lindberg was born on November 25, 1946 to Arthur and Gladys (Svalen) Lindberg and grew up in Fertile, MN. Lyle graduated from Fertile High School in 1964 and furthered his education at Minnesota State University. He then started working at North Dakota State University in the Plant Sciences Department in flax research. He also did computer tech work for the department. He retired after 50 years at NDSU. Lyle was proud to be a retired member of the FM Crusaders, as he was also a Charter member. Lyle married Barbara Wiemann on September 30, 1982 in Wahpeton, ND.
Lyle had a proud collection of cars and motorcycles and spent his free time tinkering on them. Lyle’s favorite event of the year was Halloween. For many years he would set up a display with his two hearses, police car, and ambulance to spook the neighborhood kids. He had two ‘man caves’ and had laptops in both. He had speakers attached to them and would sing along to the music as he worked. Lyle had a beautiful singing voice. He enjoyed being in the backyard and the friendly gatherings at the end of the day. He loved spending time with his family and was known to show his affection by teasing. Lyle will be greatly missed.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara; sons, Dan (Carol) Osmondson of Thief River Falls, MN, Brad (Kerry) Wiemann of Rochester, MN; and Charlie (Liz) Lindberg of Fargo, ND; 9 grandchildren, Trevon, Trace, Jake, Jesse, Parker, Kaden, Jordan, Chloe, and Victor; 1 great-grandchild, Trig; siblings, Connie (Arnie) Reinhard of Aitkin, MN and Gary (Terri) Lindberg of Commerce City, CO; and nieces and nephews.
