Lyle D. Dahl

Lyle D. Dahl, Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Lyle Dale Dahl was born July 25, 1935, to Thomas and Sophia (Trost) Dahl, at Cooperstown, ND, where he grew up on the family farm.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, where he was recognized as an expert marksman.  Lyle married Betty Johnson and they had two children together, Debra and Carolyn, but were later divorced.  In August 1985, Lyle married Linda Krueger, who had two children, Timothy and Robin. He was an auto mechanic for many years and ran his own business, LD Auto, until his retirement.

Lyle loved going back to the family farm and remembering his early years.  He enjoyed country music, dancing and playing the accordion.  His favorite song was “You Are My Sunshine.”

Lyle is survived by his wife; his daughters, Carolyn (Darren) Miller and Robin Krueger; his son, Timothy (Lina) Krueger; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Betty, Evelyn and Arlene.  He was preceded in death by is parents; his daughter, Debbie, and his brothers, Roger, David and Donald.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019, at 3:00 P.M., with visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.  Burial will take place at Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City, ND.
