Lynn Davis Speer

Lynn Davis Speer, 79, of Felton, MN, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, in his home in Felton.

Lynn was born on June 19, 1943, to Donald and Ellen (Goranson) Speer, in Hawley, MN. His family moved to Felton where they purchased and ran their family farm in 1945. Lynn grew up on the farm, attending elementary school in Averill, MN, and high school in Felton, MN. After school, he took over the family farm as a lifelong career until his retirement in 1998. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Hoven on November 13, 1971, in Borup, MN, and together they raised three children.

Lynn enjoyed deer hunting as a social event, and loved fishing and BBQ. He had a fondness for his first car, a 1929 Model A, and was able to purchase another one later in life. He was a member of the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion. Lynn adored his granddaughters and will be missed by his loving family.

Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; children, Elizabeth Speer, Matthew (Crystal) Speer, and Thomas Speer; grandchildren, Carlye, Madyson, and Courtney Speer; siblings, Bruce, Joel (Kolynne), and Carol Speer; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ellen; and brother, Darrell “Pete” Speer.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., followed by the prayer service at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN. Visitaiton will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Scandia Cemetery at a later date.
