Machelle Whaley

Machelle Nancy Whaley, 49, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo ND, surrounded by her family.

Machelle was born September 23, 1964 to Bob and Nancy Kronbeck Whaley in Laverne MN. For the past 27 years, Machelle was a resident of Lakes Homes in Detroit Lakes, where she received wonderful, compassionate care. During those years, Machelle worked for the Developmental Activity Center D.A.C and was very proud of her job. She was an excellent worker and received Employee of the Month recognition several times. Machelle was very dedicated to her job and would always rather work than go on vacation.
Family was extremely important to Machelle and she was very devoted to each of her family members. During holiday celebrations, Machelle could always be found in the kitchen, where everyone seemed to gather, because she loved being surrounded by her family. Machelle was a very competitive player when it came to board games and her favorite game was Sorry.

Through her many years of residence at Lakes Homes, Machelle made many close bonds with the staff and other residents and she will be greatly missed.
Machelle is survived by her parents, Bob and Nancy Whaley, Hawley, MN; a sister, Marty Jo Rocky Moe, Hawley, MN; a brother, Brock Kristen Whaley, Hitterdal, MN; niece Bobbie Jo Moe and nephews Dallas and Dawson Whaley.

Machelle was preceded in death by her grandparents and two cousins.
