Mae A. Treese

Mae A. H. Treese, 86, of Hawley, MN, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Hawley Senior Living, Hawley, MN. Mae A. H. Treese was born April 16, 1926 in Parke Township, Hawley, MN, to Oscar and Hilda Skjerva Floberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Hegland Lutheran Church near Hawley, MN. She attended country school District #109. Mae was employed at Fairmont Creamery in Moorhead and helped on the family farm. Mae married Merrill Regstad on August 7, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead. They shared the joys of raising three children, David, Marilyn and Robert. Mae was employed at Concordia College. They later moved to Downey, California. She became employed at Baker Oil and Tool in Los Angeles. Later they purchased the Coast to Coast store in Burley, Idaho. Some years later due to Merrill's health they returned to Moorhead, MN. Merrill passed away November 3, 1980 due to heart conditions. Raymond Treese and Mae Regstad were united in marriage August 27, 1983 at Solem Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN. She was a wife, friend, sister-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. Her loving spirit will be remembered by her survivors. She was active her last years with family genealogy and friends. Mae loved to bake, garden and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Merrill Regstad and Ray Treese; and sons, David and Robert Regstad. Mae is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Bob Mills of Fresno, CA; two grandchildren, Russell and Joan; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
