Mae V. Gee

Mae V. Gee, 90, Moorhead, MN, died on Sunday, March 4, 2018, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Mae Valentine Erickson was born on February 14, 1928, near Cayuga, ND, to Knute and Hennie (Hawkinson) Erickson. She grew up and attended elementary school at Oak Mound School, near Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School. She then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. Mae married Robert Gee on June 18, 1953 in Elim Lutheran Church in Fargo. She worked at Mutual of New York, in the Fargo office for twelve and half years.  She became the office manager of the Clay County office of Minnesota Extension Service where she worked for thirty-one years until retirement. Mae also was a dairy farmer during all the years of her employment off the farm. Through her work at the extension service, she became very involved with 4H and the Clay County Fair, which she loved. Mae loved cooking, baking and gardening, and she was famous for her apple pies.

Mae is survived by her brother, Duane Erickson, Moorhead, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on October 28, 2014. She was also preceded by her brother and sister-in-law Wallace and Jewell Erickson, and her sister-in-law Joan Erickson.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN, and one hour before the funeral at the church.

Funeral: Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. in First Congregational UCC in Fargo, ND.

Interment: Oak Mound Cemetery, Kragnes, MN.
