Mae Weaver, 90, died Friday, August 14, 2009 in the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Elise Mae Hansen was born May 20, 1919 in Hawley Township, MN to Soren and Anne Mickleson Hansen. She was raised there and attended country school through the 8th grade. She enjoyed playing guitar and piano, and singing for amateur night for Peterson Brother's on KVOX. Mae also enjoyed making donuts with the ladies of Hawley United Methodist Church. On November 16, 1944 she married LeRoy Weaver in Moorhead. They farmed on his home farm raising sheep, chickens, milking cows, and feed for the animals. They had 3 children, Sharol, Pam, and Rick. In 1961 they purchased the farm a mile East and moved up the hill that fall. There they raised milk cows exclusively and raised the feed for the cows as well as putting up the hay. Roy passed away February 6, 1974.She is survived by one son, Rick Weaver, Hawley; two daughters, Sharol Weaver, Hawley and Pam Brad Hempstead, Oronco, MN; one grandson, Tom Trisha Hempstead, Eagen, MN; one brother, Floyd Hansen, Moorhead; and one sister, Betty Marweg, Dilworth. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Roy; two brothers, Charlie and Harry Hansen; and two sisters, Carrie Johnson and Inger Robertson.
