Marcella Jean Paulus

Marcella Jean (Kemmit) Paulus, 69, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, in her home in Moorhead.

Marcella was born on September 7, 1951, to Albert and Lenora (Adam) Kemmit in Harvey, ND. She was raised in Anamoose, ND, where she graduated from Anamoose High School with honors. After her graduation, she moved to Denver, CO, where she began her career as a telephone operator with Northwestern Bell. After Frankie Paulus returned from the Vietnam War, they were united in marriage on September 25, 1970, in Drake, ND. After their marriage, they moved to Moorhead, MN, and Marcella continued to work for Northwestern Bell at the Fargo branch. She retired in 2004 and continued to live in Moorhead.

In Marcella’s retirements years, she would work nights as a stocker at Target for a number of those years. She had a definitive love for plants and enjoyed cooking, cross stitch, and latch hook. She also loved to shop and had an array of frog memorabilia. She enjoyed teaching and promoting arts and crafts and had a special interest in interior design.

Marcella is survived by her loving husband, Frankie; children, Michael (Sarah Rainwater) Paulus and Adam (Kaiulani) Paulus; grandchildren, Kelsey, Hailey, Krista, Maggie, Thomas, Jacob, and Zachary; great-grandchild, Logan; sister, Janice Degenstein; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lenora; and siblings, Russell, Gerald, Sandy, Sharon, and Vicky.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the Celebration of Life at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
