Marcella M. Folden

Marcella M. Folden, age 86, of Hawley, MN, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Marcella Mary Koenig was born on October 3, 1922 to Frank and Emma Liberty Koenig on the family farm in Moorhead, MN. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead. On July 12, 1941 she married Adolph Folden in Moorhead, together they had five children. In 1953, Adolph and Marcella moved to Rollag, MN. Marcella moved to Hawley in 1987 after Adolph died. Marcella was a rummage sale queen, she also enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, cards and dice, baking cookies, puzzle books, feeding the birds and squirrels. She played the accordion at weddings and dances and also played on the radio. Most importantly, Marcella enjoyed spending time with her family. Blessed be the memory of Marcella, she will be missed dearly by those who knew her.She is survived by one son, Jeff Susan Folden of West Fargo, ND; three daughters, Barb Malzahn of West Fargo, ND, Judy Peter Johnson of Cloquet, MN and Carol Robert Okke of Hawley, MN; two sisters, Alvina Boder of Duluth, MN and Margaret Loyius Ehlke of Enumclaw, WA; 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Wayne; five brothers, Paul, Ray, Lawrence, Victor and an infant brother and three sisters, Tillie, Bernice and Loretta and three grandchildren.
