Marcia L. Grosz

September 1, 1935 — March 31, 2021

Marcia Grosz, age 85, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, ND.

Marcia Lou Grosz was born September 1, 1935 in Willmar, MN to J. Arnold and Allene C. (Frederickson) Miller.  She spent her childhood years living in Kerkoven, MN, and Webster, SD, later moving to Moorhead, MN, where she graduated from Moorhead High School in 1953.  In August of 1954, she married Theodore A. Grosz.  Their union brought three children, Jean Marie, Kay Marie and Robert Theodore Grosz.

Marcia spent many wonderful years as a full-time mom and homemaker.  When her children were all school aged, she worked for Balmer Motors in Moorhead, Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo and St Luke’s/Merit Care in Fargo.  In every position she held, Marcia gave 100% of her kindness, warmth and never-ending positive energy.  Following her retirement, she took a brief year off but soon returned to Trinity Lutheran Church in the position of Confirmation Manager.

Marcia’s faith, friends and family guided her life and brought her joy.   She cherished being a mother to three, gramma to seven and great-gramma to eight.

In 2015, Marcia moved from Moorhead to Riversquare in Fargo.  Here she made many endearing friendships within a close-knit group of 55+ aged residents.  Daily coffee hours, monthly potlucks and social gatherings filled her calendar.  She attended the Lutheran worship service each Tuesday at Riverview Place Chapel.

Marcia is survived by her three children; Jean (Tim) Johnson of Richfield, MN, Kay (Doug) Wigtil of Fergus Falls, MN and Robert (Debra) Grosz of Fargo, ND, seven grandchildren; Abby (Zac) Schnedler of Bloomington, MN, Isaac (Kaitlyn) Johnson of Burnsville, MN, Jaclyn (Lucas) Reuter of Fargo, ND, Nickolas (Lauren) Wigtil of West Fargo, ND, Anthony Grosz (Nicki Sneed) of Los Angeles, CA, Rachelle (Cory) Deutz of Marshall, MN, and Alexander Grosz of Minneapolis, MN; eight great-grandchildren, Griffin, Grayson, Nora, Alice, Carver, William, Maisie and Diana. Marcia is also survived by one nephew, Brad (Jenifer) Miller of Otsego, MN; three nieces; Shelley (Brian) Neibaur of Hudson, WI, Nanci (Wayne) Dauwen of Fargo, ND, and Connie (Glen) Altringer of West Fargo, ND; great nieces and nephews; Ben, Carly, Mitchell, Trina, Katie, Hannah, Amanda, Brayden; and sister in-law; Pauline Mears of Mesa, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Allene C. and J. Arnold Miller; brothers, Jack and Thomas Miller; and sister in-law, Audrey Miller.
