Margaret A. Ramstad, 83, Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND, died there on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Margaret Anfinson was born on July 14, 1925, near Hawley, MN, to Emil and Dorothy Olson Anfinson. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Hawley High School. She attended the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston, Idaho, graduating in 1946. Margaret worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Ansgar's Hospital in Moorhead, MN, for many years before going to work at the V.A. Hospital in Fargo, ND. She left nursing to care for her mother and then returned to the V.A. to work until her retirement. In retirement she worked as a travelling nurse, filling in where needed in Minnesota nursing homes. Margaret married Lawrence "Bud" Ramstad on June 12, 1965, in Newark, CA, and they lived in Hawley. They enjoyed travelling as a couple, and she travelled to Peru with her best friend Anna to visit the mission of Fr. Jack Davis in Chimbote. Margaret was a happy, caring person whose family was very important to her. Bud died on September 19, 2000. She spent several years living with her brother Carl in Burnt Ranch, CA. Margaret was grateful to Grant and Peggy Ramstad and dear friend Anna Helms and the staff at Bethany Homes and the Hawley Manor. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.She is survived by her brother, Carl Anfinson, Burnt Ranch, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond, Roy, Helmer; and sisters, Evelyn, Olive, and Mae.
