Margaret K. Sahlberg

Margaret was born February 29, 1920. The youngest child of Chris and Sina Holst Sorensen, she grew up on the farm near Ulen and attended country school. On July 17, 1940, she married Gordon Sahlberg in Ulen. Together they started a family and farmed in rural Hitterdal. Margaret was very active over the years in the church. After retiring from farming, she sold Avon products in the neighborhood and worked for a short time at Viking Manor Nursing Home. They later moved off the farm and into Hawley in 1979. In 2003, she entered Hawley Senior Living and later the Viking Manor NH in 2006. Margaret enjoyed embroidery and reading, but most of all spending time with family and friends.Margaret is survived by daughters, Mary Leon Geithman of Bismarck, ND, Laverne Joe Gerner of Hitterdal, MN, Carol Verdon Rodewald of Ulen, MN, Connie Duane Kinnoin of Stanley, ND; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence and Arthur; and sister, Esther Palumbo.
