Margaret Ann Myers (Neeb), our dear Mother, sadly passed away peacefully at Sanford Medical Center at the age of 83, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, October 11th.
Margaret was the youngest of 5 children born to Gust and Sophia Neeb in Breckenridge, MN because there wasn’t a hospital in Moselle, ND where they all lived. She was born June 20, 1940. The family moved to Fargo when she was 5 where she attended school and then later graduated in 1958 from Fargo Central High School. After high school she went to work for American Life and Casualty in Fargo.
She met the love of her life, Frank Myers, in Fargo on a blind date in 1960. They were married on September 16, 1961, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo. They were married for 36 years before Frank’s death in 1997. Together, they raised their 3 children: Paul, Pam, and David, in Moorhead. She was active in her church, Our Saviors Lutheran in Moorhead, as a volunteer for many activities including being a Sunday School teacher. As a loving Grandma, she also took on the role of day care provider for her grandchildren during their younger years.
After an unfortunate accident in 1985 that left David permanently injured, Mom didn’t hesitate in becoming David’s full-time caregiver for the past 38 years. And now our family’s Angel on earth has gone home to be with Frank and our Lord.
One of Mom’s true passions and rare outside activities was as an avid bowler for over 65 years! At times, she enjoyed bowling in leagues 3 times a week and tournaments on the weekend. She was inducted into the ND State Bowling Hall of Fame in 2004 and was also a F-M Hall of Fame Bowler. She was very proud of her bowling achievements and formed many dear and cherished friendships through her bowling career.
She loved her summer flowers, reading books, watching the Vikings and Bison and listening to the Twins on her radio. She also developed many special relationships with her wonderful neighbors on 19th street north.
Her other achievements and proudest moments were with her 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 6 bonus great grandchildren. She watched her grandchildren grow into adults and was so proud of them. Her eyes glistened with joy when her great grandchildren visited.
She is survived by her 3 children, Paul Myers (Lael), Walker, MN, Pam Schmidt (Brian Carey), Fargo, ND, and David Myers, Moorhead; 5 grandchildren, Justin (Magen) Myers, Williston, ND, Joshua (Charli) Myers, Williston, ND, Chelayne (Aaron) Molck, Surprise, AZ, Brianna (Chad) Molck, Sun City, AZ, Alex Schmidt (Julia Stetz), Fargo, ND; 10 great grandchildren, Andre, Oliva, Lincoln, Vanna, Gabe, Aryan, Justin, Joey, BrayLynn, Kayson; her sister, VelRae Burkholder; sister-in-law, Carol Myers; sister-in-law, Donna Myers; brother-in-law, Carl Myers, sister-in-law, Janelle Myers, sister-in-law, Mona Skaurud and many special nieces and nephews.
