Marian D. Erickson

Marian Erickson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, age 83, of Moorhead, MN died peacefully Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Palliative Care at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Marian was born on August 14, 1928 in Becker County, MN, the daughter of Stanley and Inga Jellum. Marian always enjoyed children and had a special way with them; she taught Bible school and Sunday school for many years at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead. She also cooked for the children at the Trinity daycare for four years. She was an exceptional mother and most of all, enjoyed being home with and taking care of her family. Her loving ways and optimistic outlook on life touched anyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She was extremely devoted to God and Trinity Lutheran Church where she often volunteered her time to help those in need. She was very forgiving and always loved the people who were hard to love. We will always remember her as a woman of great strength, courage and love. Marian is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband of 67 years, Oren; sons, Timothy Sharee and Jeffrey; daughter, Jill Mark Haugen; granddaughters, Kara Abdella, Maranda Matthew Quintana, Danica, Ashley, Erica Haugen, and Jasmine; grandsons, Luke Haugen, Jeffrey and Michael Smith; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Hannah, Garrett, Brooklyn, Maeli, Ian and Carter; sisters, Bernice Ampstrup and Doris Dahlberg; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Erickson; six God-children, Gary Nichols, Darla Pesola, Miles Brown, Connie Menssen, Darryl Buland, Nuntana Erickson, and many dear nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Inga; son, Curtis Erickson; brothers, Earnest and Lawrence Jellum; sisters, Gladys Erickson and Irene Nichols.
