Marian A. Lunde

Marian A. Lunde, 85, of Lake Park, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN. Marian was born in Lake Park, MN, on October 13, 1934, to Severt and Teresa (Moran) Roen. She grew up on the family farm, attended country school, and graduated from Lake Park High School. On November 19, 1955, Marian married Alton Lunde in Madison, MN. Together they made their home and farmed near Lake Park. Over the years, Marian enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, baking and always found time to shop at Herberger’s. She and Alton enjoyed traveling and their nights out dancing.  Marian was proud of her Irish heritage and knew how to push buttons. Most of all however, she loved her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Marian is survived by her sons, Brian (Shelly) Lunde, and Bruce (Leanna) Lunde; grandchildren, Jamie Lunde, Jessie Lunde, Lee Ann (Nick) Buttino, Brandon (Kay) Lunde, Jacob (Danielle) Lunde, and Caleb Lunde; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Lunde, Gavin and Tenley Burnside, Ellie Lunde and baby girl on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Terry (Stuart) Ackerson.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Alton; her parents, Severt and Teresa Roen; and siblings, Dorothy (Victor) Haugrud, Alice (Ernest) Moe, John (Joan) Roen, Theron (Vivian) Roen, Bernard Roen, and Beverly (Dean) Iverson.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Northern Lights Assisted Living and Viking Manor in Ulen for their friendship and wonderful care of Marian.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, in Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.  Memorial gathering will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., at the church.
