Marian Irene Schroeder

Marian Irene Schroeder, 95, of Moorhead, MN, died October 24,2023, at The Meadows on University, Fargo, ND.

Marian was born August 3, 1928, to Elmer and Cora (Dague) Collison in Poplar Township, MN.  She was raised on the farm and graduated from 8^th grade at Oakland School. Marian was united in marriage to Robert Schroeder on November 20, 1946, and they farmed together in Hunter, ND.  Marian received an EMT certificate in 1984 and then worked for Hunter Ambulance for 4 years.  The family eventually moved to Fargo, ND and then Motley, MN, where they resided for several years. Robert passed away on February 22, 2006, and Marian moved to Thief River Falls where she resided until moving to Moorhead about 2 years ago. 

Marian loved creative past times, whether it was painting, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, or quilting, and spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking.  She loved travelling and camping and was able to visit 49 states with her beloved husband, Robert. In 2015, at the age of 87, Marian finally made it to the the 50^th state, Alaska, with a memorable trip by motorhome with her daughter, Kathy.   She loved collecting bells and skunk figurines.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her sons, Keith and Joe; her sister, Delphine and brothers, Vergil, John and Earl. 

She is survived by her children, Robert (Barbara), Valley City, ND, Katherine McIntosh, Moorhead, Merlin (Lori), Thief River Falls; daughters-in-law, Mary Jo Schroeder, and Angie (Tim) Schroeder-Berg; special nephew, Timothy Collison; sister, Agnes (Melvin) Zubrod; brothers, Ronald, Robert, Russell and Larry (Jessica) 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 3-4 PM with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 at Wright Funera Home, Moorhead, MN.

Visitation will continue Monday, October 30, 2023, from 12-1 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00 at Motley Free Methodist Church, Motley, MN.
