Marie A. Flaten

Marie Antoinette Flaten, 71, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 under the care at Elim Rehab and Care Center in Fargo, ND.

Marie was born in Moorhead, MN, on May 17, 1947 to Axel and Mildred (Aakre) Flaten.

Her early years were spent in Barnesville, MN, and she graduated from Barnesville High School in 1965. After graduation, she moved to New Brighton, MN, where she was a nursing assistant.  She moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1984. Marie became a mother in 1984. She later worked for Friendship Inc. until her retirement.

Marie loved to share stories about Doug whenever she had the opportunity and loved when her grandchildren brought her treats.

Marie was survived by her son, Douglas (Grace) Flaten of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Lily, Grant and Garrett Flaten; sister, Arlene Flaten and brother, Dwight (Marcy) Flaten.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Gathering of friends and family will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN, from 5-7 pm. A prayer service will begin at 6:30.
