Marilyn D. Foster

Surrounded by her family, our loving mother and friend Marilyn Darlene Foster went peacefully to meet the Lord on August 10, 2017.

Marilyn was born February 9,1934 in Minneapolis Minnesota to Roy and Elva Mahe. She graduated from Robinsdale High School. She married Robert Foster on October 2,1952. They spent their initial 14 months of marriage in Fort Hood Texas while Bob fulfilled his military commitment. After briefly living in Minneapolis, they built a home in Brooklyn Center before moving to Moorhead, Minnesota to open a new business Foster Drug Pharmacy and Retail.

Marilyn fulfilled God’s purpose by making a home, raising their five children and supporting her husband in their business. She was an active volunteer with Campfire Girls, Jaycees Business, Junior Service League, P.E.O, and at Good Shepherd Church in Moorhead and Celebration Lutheran Church in East Wenatchee.

Later she pursued careers as a book keeper, travel agent, and ultimately a real estate agent.

After retirement, she relocated to East Wenatchee Washington and worked for Costco Demonstration Services.

Marilyn enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were the focus of her life.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, and grandson Ryan Wentzell.

She is survived by her five children: Monica Foster Jim Ertl, Susan Foster Jeff Halgunseth, Mary Foster Doug Hansen, Julie Foster-Lane Dave Lane, Rick Foster Melissa Burgard and 11 grandchildren: Adam, Katie, Grant, Greta, Garret, Mac, Marlee, Bergen, Whitney, Bert and Angelina. Also 3 great grandchildren: Ajay, Addisyn, and Hayes.

Marilyn will be deeply missed. She was the heart of our family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 1 PM with a visitation one hour before at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Inurnment will be in the columbarium at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
