Marilyn O. Sather Klemetson, 78, passed away on March 14, 2012 in her home near Moorhead, MN after a short battle with extensive cancer.Marilyn Orpha was born on March 30, 1933 to parents Carl and Bernice Garden Sather on the family farm in Keene Township, Clay County, MN where she grew up and attended country school. She then graduated from Ulen High School in 1951 and went on to begin nurses training. However, her then boyfriend Arley Klemetson, who was in the Air Force was lonesome and asked her to quit and get married. They were married in Hitterdal, MN on November 15, 1952 and made their first home in San Antonio, TX. When Arley went overseas she stayed with her parents on the farm and their first child was born. She was a loving and good mother to four sons, Scott, Lance, Steven and Monte. Marilyn worked at several hospitals, schools, dental office and finished her working career at Riverview Place in Fargo, ND. She was very interested in music, having taught piano lessons in her early years. She was in band and glee clubs in high school and played piano most of her life. She was also organist in church and played at various events. She enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the U.S. and visiting with her friends and relatives. Marilyn will be sadly missed by her husband, Arley; sons, Lance, Moorhead, MN, Steven, Lyle, MN, Monte Katherine Klemetson, Meridian, ID; grandchildren, Lacey David Shaw, Waconia, MN, Jessica and Hunter of Meridian, ID; siblings, Mick Beatrice Sather, Mobridge, SD, Sylvia Burtness, Moorhead, MN, Allan Genelle Sather, Vergas, MN, Connie Nokken, Moorhead, MN and Ronald Sather, CA, also many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carlton; and son, Scott, who died of leukemia three years ago.
