Marion Isabel Wright Cain passed January 27, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. Curious, energetic, intelligent with a healthy dose of compassion for her fellow man, Marion lived a full and productive life. Born August 23, 1931, raised in Moorhead, MN, she loved fishing and swimming at the lake in the summers and achieved the highest rank in Camp Fire girls. She always sought education and had many degrees and certificates. She attended Concordia College, University of Minnesota, and Northwestern University earning BS and MS in Nursing. She married and had 5 children: Harvey, Norman, Lorraine, Phillip, and Thomas. She loved being a nurse and used her knowledge and skills as a nurse for her whole life. She added certificates in teaching, a Real Estate brokers license, and a Juris Doctorate to her resume through the years. Marion moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1980, where she took up her legal practice until January 2023. She excelled in advocating for individuals that had been wronged but didn’t have a strong voice. She shined at representing the underdog. Marion also enjoyed playing the flute and participated in the Alamo City Community Marching Band into her mid-80s. She loved cooking, knitting, gardening (organically), and outdoor activities, including rafting down the Colorado River and horse riding in upper Yosemite.
Marion is survived by 3 of her 5 children (Harvey, Phillip & Thomas) and 6 grandchildren (Karin, Robin, Michael, Edward, Gregory, Harvey S III, and Lorraine (Lark).
Marion will be interred in Moorhead Minnesota on August 5 beside her two children that preceded her in death (Norman and Lorraine) and her parents (Edgar and Hanny Wright).
