Marion D. Allen

Marion Delores Allen, 84, of Wolverton, MN went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10th, peacefully after a few difficult months filled with small blessings along the way.

Marion was born March, 10, 1931 to Selmer and Myrtle Swenson Ness in Wolverton, MN. She was raised on the family farm through 8th grade and graduated from high school in Vancouver, Washington. Marion married Thomas Allen in June 1949. She returned to the family farm in 1961 where she raised her 7 children. Marion lived a very active life, working at the Holiday Inn Fargo into her 70’s, planting her garden, canning, and crocheting. Marion adored visiting family and was lovingly reffered to as the baby whisperer because of her calm demeaner. She also loved traveling, which she did regularly, taking a road trip just last summer to Arizona with 2 of her daughters. Marion cherished her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to attend the many school programs, birthdays, and celebrations.

Marion will be dearly missed by her children, Mike Allen, Pat Beth Allen, John Kathleen Allen, Catherine Dennis Lugert, Betty Chris Belekis, Julie Jerome Schroeder, and Keith Kristi Allen; 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; sister, Ione Moir; sister-in-law Doris Ness Dibley.

Marion is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marvin and Gene Ness, and daughter-in-Law Jeanie Allen.

Funeral services and visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Wolverton, MN. Visitation 10-11am, funeral at 11am with meal and burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo, ND.
