Mark L. Holweger

Mark Lyle Holweger, 67, of Walcott, ND, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.  Mark was born July 28, 1951, to Alfred and Beverly (Hardy) Holweger in Grand Forks, ND.

Mark spent most of his younger years in Moorhead, MN, and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1970.  Mark married his wife of 33 years, Janice, on February 14, 1986.  He worked at Fargo Iron and Metal for more than 30 years, retiring in 2012.  He then worked at Leonard Golf Course and Kindred Public Schools until 2015.

Throughout his life, Mark enjoyed time at the lake, fishing, playing bean bags and spending time with family and friends.  He also enjoyed many hunting trips and would play a round of golf with anyone that was willing. He played softball for more than twenty years with his brother Wayne and many of his friends.  In retirement, Mark enjoyed working around the house, golfing, and spending time with family, friends, and neighbors.  Mark was a dedicated husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend.  His quirky sense of humor, soft spoken and kind ways will be greatly missed.

Mark is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Stephanie (Clint) Weisz, of Thornton, CO; stepsons, Scott (Tara) Eck of Minneapolis, MN, and Jason (Nicole) Eck, of Dilworth, MN; grandchildren, Lucas, Eden, Avery, and Justin; stepmother, Kathy Holweger; siblings, Richard (Cindy) Aaser, Wayne (Lori) Holweger, Steven (Brenda) Aaser, Claudette (Gary) Grandbois, Scott (Carey) Aaser, Kristi (Ron) Johnson.  Mark will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents; stepbrother, Roger Aaser and niece, Kelly Galliher.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 1:00 -2:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00 at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
