Marlan was born July 23, 1944 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Lloyd and Esther Johnson Forsberg. As an infant he moved to various places. Marlan's mother died when he was a young child. In 1963 he graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. He served six years in the National Guard. On March 27, 1965, Marlan married Linda Johnson, daughter of Ernie and Eleanor Johnson, of Lake Park, MN. He worked for Vigen-Johnson Furniture for twenty years, and owned his own business Forsberg Floor Covering in Lake Park. He was presently employed at River Bend Industries of Moorhead. He was also self employed as a carpet layer. Marlan lived most of his life in Lake Park. Marlan loved spending time in the outdoors, mainly fishing and hunting. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar. Marlan loved his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed in all the lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Shawn, and one brother, Albert. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Linda, Lake Park, MN; one daughter, Andrea Richard Olson, Lake Park, MN; two sons, Darren Forsberg, Lake Park, MN, and Ryan Forsberg, Lake Park, MN; seven grandchildren; nine sisters, Edith Norton Gaard, Algonac, MI, Myrtle Dick Lowater, Winter, WI, Irene Edstrom Lehne, Visalia, CA, Evy Wesley Hanson, Detroit Lakes, MN, Janice Dick Weeden, Tennessee, Marlene Pete Riewer, Brainerd, MN, Charlene Tom VonRuden, Frazee, MN, Esther Harlan Koenig, Lake Park, MN, and Susan Mike Williams, St. Cloud, MN; one brother, Ronald Vinita Carlson, Lake Park, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
