Marlin Jayson Braseth
Marlin Braseth, 87, of Lake Park, MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning, December 27, 2020 in the presence of his loving daughter Nancee, daughter-in-law Kathy, and Pastor Steve Chamberlain of Hawley Alliance Church, at Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, MN.
Marlin Jayson Braseth was born on July 30, 1933 to Emil Braseth amd Gusta (Myhre) Braseth in Cormorant, Minnesota where he attended District #10 country school near Lake Park, MN. He then joined the US Navy and was able to see the world. He served on the USS Quincy, USS Halsey Powell, and the USS Vammen until February 1956. On September 20, 1957 he was united in marriage to Darlene (Dilly) Johnson in Hennepin, MN. They made their home in rural Lake Park, MN.
Marlin was a truck driver at MME. After his retirement, he was able to focus on what he loved, spending time with his beloved wife Dilly, his children and grandchildren. Marlin enjoyed staying active with his gardening, hunting, fishing, and keeping bees. Marlin also loved hearing, reading and studying the word of God.
He is survived by his children; Mike, Marty, Glenn, Nathan, (Kathy), Nancee (Michael Nauertz), Janell (Jud Komrosky) and 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Marlin’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Sunnyside Care Center for the love and care they showed to Marlin.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 2, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.

Interment will follow at Park Lutheran Church Cemetery.
