Martha K. Kind

Martha K. Kind, 96, of Moorhead, MN, died in Rosewood on Broadway on Monday, August 31, 2009. Martha Kristiana Anderson was born on June 20, 1913 in Norwegian Grove Township, MN to Ole and Elise Braaten Anderson. She attended school in Pelican Rapids. On November 12, 1938 she married Julian Kind in South Emmanuel Church near Pelican Rapids. They lived in Lake Park and Pelican Rapids before moving to Moorhead in 1951. She retired from Concordia College in Food Service after 18 years. Martha volunteered for the Senior Companion Program at Lutheran Social Services for 16 years. She is survived by three sons, Marvin Kind, Robert Rita Kind and Dale Grace Anne Kind; three daughters, Julyn Fred Krueger, Alice Nelson and Linda Dennis Wilkes; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Kind and Ruth Anderson; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; parents; one brother, Olaf Anderson; three sisters, Margaret Johnson, Anna Sanden and Ella Johnson.
