Martin Theodore Moe passed away March 30, 2006, at the Elim Care Center in Fargo. He was born August 8, 1926, to Selma Lillehaugen Moe and Martin A. Moe of Michigan, ND. He grew up on a farm in Dahlen Township, ND and was baptized and confirmed in Sarnia Lutheran Church.Martin attended Dahlen Public School, graduating from high school in 1944. He managed the family farm until 1950 when he enlisted in the United States Army. Following basic training he entered the 11th Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, earning his Parachute Badge as a qualified parachutist in the U.S. Army. After serving four years in the Army Reserve, he received an honorable discharge from military service in 1956.Upon returning to North Dakota, Martin completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of North Dakota majoring in Civil Engineering. His employment included constructing atlas missile sites throughout the Midwestern states, working as a Civil Engineer in San Francisco, and eventually locating in Denver, Colorado, where he established his own construction company, WILMOE, INC. He continued in this endeavor until his retirement in 1994. Following retirement, he returned to the family home in Michigan, ND, and enjoyed summer employment as a Maintenance Engineer at the Grand Forks Air Base.His interests included down-hill skiing in the mountains, camping and hiking in the Colorado Rockies, long-distance running during summer months, and attending summer theatre and concerts in the Denver area. His interest in sporting activities was life-long, including UND Hockey, The Denver Broncos, and the New York Yankees.He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Solveig and Al Bartz of Moorhead; three nieces: Dianne Bob Gunderson and Cynthia Moe of Devils Lake and Rebecca Scott Parkin of Bismarck; nephew Blair Moe, Minneapolis; grand-niece Jessica Matt Heen of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA; grand-nephews Ryan and Andrew Parkin of Bozeman, MT, and Shawn Parkin, Bismarck.Martin was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arthur Moe and sister-in-law, Ruth Moe.
