Marvin Ray Corneliussen, 90, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN.
Marvin was born on September 3, 1934, to Rudolph and Millie (Amundson) Corneliussen in his home in Rustad, MN. The family moved to a farm north of Hawley, MN, where Marvin attended school until the 8th grade when his father passed away. After his father passed, he worked on his family farm. Marvin dedicated 50 years as a bricklayer and was a proud lifetime member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers. He earned his 50 years of service pin from the union for his dedication to the craft. After his retirement, he continued to lay brick part time.
Marvin was a very social individual who loved to tell a story, tell a joke, or visit anybody and everybody. One of his favorite pastimes was driving around town in his white Buick Chrysler 5th Avenue labeled the “White Limo” and picking up people to give them a ride and have a chat. He was always willing to help a neighbor or friend in need. He also enjoyed fishing and baking, especially lefsa, donuts, and flatbread. Most of all, he loved his family and provided a house full of love and laughter.
Marvin is survived by his children, Marlys (Jerry) Iverson, Marsha (Doug) Keeping, Jeff (Stephanie) Corneliussen, Sandra Johnson (special friend Dave Weisgerber), Lois (Mitch) Doyle, Bruce (Susan) Corneliussen, and Randy Corneliussen; 16 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Dolva and Judy (Dave) Vigesaa; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mavis; grandchildren, Rusty and Travis Iverson; parents, Rudolph and Millie; siblings, Ernest Corneliussen, Florence Bishop, Darlene Gemlich, Margaret Iwen, Ralph Corneliussen, and an infant sibling Millie Elizabeth Corneliussen.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Viking Manor for the wonderful care for our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Also, thank you to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
