Marvin was born August 29, 1923, to John and Meta Huls, in Akron, IA, where he grew up and attended school. Following high school he joined the U.S. Army and served in Iwo Jima during WWII. After returning home, Marvin married Norma Howard on August 29, 1944 in Akron, IA. Together they lived in Denver, CO, while Marvin continued his education and received a degree in Watch making. Upon graduation, he owned and operated a jewelry store in Kimball, SD, and later worked at Diebold, Inc. for 18 years. In 1971, he started Dakota Safe of Minnesota, which he operated until retirement. Marvin enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and repairing watches and clocks. He is survived by three children, Linda Gil Schoener, Fargo, ND, John Huls, Scottsdale, AZ, and Kathy Jim Iverson, Moorhead, MN; two grandsons, Paul Sandra Iverson, Minot, ND, and Mark Marissa Iverson, Moorhead, MN. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; parents, John and Meta Huls; and six siblings.
