Marvin J. Ohnstad

Marvin J. Ohnstad, age 75, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, September 24, 2010, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.Marvin Julius Ohnstad was born on April 18, 1935, to Orville and Elizabeth Weiss Ohnstad in Argusville, ND. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead. On May 19, 1956, he married Irene Schaffer in Fargo, together they had three children. Marvin worked as a truck driver and in sales for Valley Maid, which later became Quality Meats and Seafood's. Marvin enjoyed woodworking, playing horseshoes, dancing, riding his Harley, fixing cars and playing the harmonica. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Blessed be the memory of Marvin, he will be missed dearly by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irene Ohnstad of Moorhead, MN; son, David Terisa Ohnstad of Durbin, ND, daughters, Yvonne Erickson of Moorhead, MN and Marvelyn Roger Gilbertson of Tea, SD; sister, Vivian Gary Paulson of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Kaylee and Kara Gilbertson, Nicholas and Tyler Erickson and Cole Ohnstad and great-grandchild, Jaiden Thompson.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Schmidt.
