Marvin S. Ness

Marvin Ness, 85, Wolverton, MN, died on Saturday, January 14, 2006, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.Marvin Selmer Ness was born on May 10, 1920, in Fargo, ND, to Selmer and Myrtle Swenson Ness. He grew up and attended school in Wolverton, MN, graduating from Wolverton High School. He farmed with his dad near Wolverton. He was a motorcycle mechanic, working at the Harley Davidson shop in Fargo in the late 1940's and the 1950's. After retiring from farming, Marvin went to work at Dayton Warehouse in Fargo. He worked there for about twenty years, retiring in 1985.Marvin will be remembered for his service as a Minnesota Firearms Safety Instructor for 42 years. He helped establish an Explorer youth group in Wolverton.He is survived by two sisters, Marion Allen, Wolverton, MN and Ione Moir, Vancouver, WA; a sister-in-law Doris Stan Dibley; sixteen nieces and nephews; forty-two great nieces and nephews.
