Mary E. Conway

Mary E. Conway, 69, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Friday December 1, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND, surrounded by her family.

Mary Elizabeth was born on July 9, 1954 to Walter and MaryLou (Ernst) Pender.  She grew up in rural Glyndon and graduated from Glyndon-Felton High School in May, 1972.  After graduation she joined the Army and went to Fort McClellan, Alabama.

On November 10, 1973 she married Arthur Berger and on August 4, 1974 they welcomed their first son, Christopher Arthur.  On October 3, 1976 they welcomed their second son, Daniel Aaron.  She loved her two little boys!

After working many years at Menards, Mary went back to college at Moorhead State University and got her BA in Elementary Education in 1995.

Mary married the love of her life, James Conway, on July 22, 2000.  They were the perfect couple and had a wonderful 23 years together.

Mary enjoyed cooking and baking and all who had a chance raved about her meals and treats.  Mary also learned to quilt and made many beautiful quilts.  She was active in the Dilworth Lutheran Church with Bible study and volunteering where needed. 

Mary is survived by her husband, Jim, sons Chris (Melissa), Dan (Rhiannon), step-daughter, Kathleen (Tim) Rupert and step-son, Brendan, along with grandchildren, Rhiannon, Destiny and Nicholas.  Sisters Patricia (Dennis) Ose, Julie (Kevin) Kelso, Debra (Juan) Arancibia and brother Timothy (Lori) Pender, along with many nephews, nieces and great-grandchildren.  Mary was predeceased in death by her parents and grandparents along with her sister Jodi.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial service will be Friday, December 8, at 11:00 a.m., in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN.

In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the Dilworth Lutheran Church for their building fund.
