Mary E. Keller

Mary Ellen Keller, 85, of Hawley, Minnesota, died April 3, 2005, at the Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, Minnesota.Mary Ellen was born October 16, 1919 at Waynesville, Ohio to Charles and Edith Marie Sherwood Edwards. She moved to Dayton, Ohio with her family when she was in the second grade. She graduated from Dayton, Ohio and then attended Miami-Jacobs Business College in Dayton. Mary was married to Clyde Keller on February 19, 1943 at Macon, Georgia. After Clyde's military service in World War II they lived in Dayton and Wilmington, Ohio until Clyde's death in 1982. She moved to rural Hawley, Minnesota in 1984. Her work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base was an important part of her life. She began as a GS-2 secretary and over the years steadily advanced to GS-11. Her family has been the most important part of her life, and she drove thousands of miles in her van to keep in touch.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, one sister, and a son who died at birth.Mary is survived by three sons, John Beverly Keller, Xenia, OH, Charles Pete Keller, Detroit Lakes, MN, and William Maureen Keller, Norman, OK; one daughter, Margie Curt Erickson, Hawley, MN; ten grandchildren, Bobby Hull, Beth Williams, Jack Keller, John Keller, Clara Appel, Zachary Keller, Dane Keller, Wesley Keller, Evan Keller, Marcus Erickson; five great-grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Zachery & Austin Keller, Morgan Hull, and Kayla Williams.Family requests memorials to be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
