Mary Louise Jorgensen, 68, Fargo, ND, died on Monday, January 31, 2011, in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.Mary was born on October 10, 1942, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was adopted by Rev. William F. and Frieda Ebrel Goetz. She grew up and attended school in Tripoli and Dubuque, Iowa, graduating from High School at Dubuque. She attended college in Oklahoma and Illinois. Mary married Pastor John Jorgensen on June 7, 1964, at Dubuque, Iowa and together they served churches in Oaks, OK, Franklin Grove, IL, Westchester, IL, Fort Wayne, IN, Hawley, MN, Middle River-Newfolden-Strathcona, MN, Perley, MN, and rural Gardner, ND. She had served on the Northwestern Minnesota Synod Council of the E.L.C.A. and served as Dean of Conference Two in the Northwestern Synod of the E.L.C.A.Mary loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with John visiting friends and family. Her favorite times where when she was surrounded by family for holidays and family vacations to the lake. Her pride and joy were the grandkids and she loved them so dearly.Mary is survived by her husband, Pastor John Jorgensen, Fargo, ND; son John Mark Maren Jorgensen, Fargo, ND; daughters Joy Rice, Chugwater, WY, and Jill Adam Sherbrooke, Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren, Destiny Rice, Amanda Rice, Chancellor Jorgensen, DesaRae Sherbrooke, Eleacia Sherbrooke, Daylan Jorgensen, Andrew Sherbrooke, and Alec Sherbrooke. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, William F. Goetz, Jr.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Nora Lutheran Church, or a homeless shelter.
