Mary L. Berg, 70, of Hawley, MN, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, February 21, 2011, in Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN, after a 23 year battle with cancer. Mary Louise Revier was born February 3, 1941, in Franklin, MN, to Gabriel and Eunice Diekmeier Revier. When Mary was young her family moved to a farm northwest of Waubun, MN, where she attended school and graduated from Waubun High School. She then continued her education at the University of North Dakota. While at college she met Leslie Berg and they were married August 18, 1962, in Rapid City, SD. They lived in Grand Forks for a time before moving back to Waubun. In 1995 they moved to Hawley and she worked at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo as a phlebotomist. Mary was an active member of St. Andrews in Hawley. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and photography. Mary and Les loved to travel and as a result were able to take part in many family celebrations over the years. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending time on her bicycle, and hiking. Mary is survived by her husband, Les; children, Andrew Berg of Waubun, MN, Jessica Michael O'Brien of Atlanta, GA, Sean Kimberly Berg of Portland, OR, Alexandra Patrick Stevenson of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Danielle and Gregory Berg, Brooklyn Spry, Carleen, Sean and Casey O'Brien, Cameron, Amelia, Sophia and Johnathon Stevenson; mother, Eunice Suda; brothers, Thomas Sharon Revier, Sr., Peter DelJoan Revier; and sisters, Rita Kenneth Wirtz and Christine Van Carrier.She was preceded in death by her father, Gabriel; and sister, Rose Anne.
