Matthew Lee England

Matthew Lee England, 61, of Hendrum, MN, died peacefully at home after losing a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 30^th, 1959, in Moorhead, MN, to Richard and Wanda (Hersud) England.

Matthew had a love for life and an adventurous free spirit. He spent his career in siding and owned a siding business for a while, working with his sons. He loved fishing, hunting, time at the lakes, and slipping off to golf with his brothers and friends. Matt liked to sit down and socialize with all walks of life with no judgement and always an open ear and love. He was always tinkering and building things. He was known to many as “Rabbit” in his younger years. Matt always liked to joke and tease people and if he really liked you, he gave you a nickname.

Matthew is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Wanda; son, Brandon England; and special friend, Dori. He is survived by his wife, Vanessa; children, Tanya (Grandan), Jesse (Abby), Lindsey (Derek), and Rachel; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with a time for sharing beginning at 12:30 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Masks are not required but highly recommended.
