Maurice O. Kasin

Maurice O. Kasin, 84, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, in MeritCare Hospital, in Fargo, North Dakota. Maurice was born January 25, 1926, in Hawley, Minnesota to Halvor and Martha Undjhem Kasin. He grew up and attended country school.¬ Maurice married Carol L. Fogel on September 15, 1951, in Hawley, Minnesota. Morrie farmed the family farm before entering the U.S. Army, serving from 1953 until 1955. Following his military service they made their home south of Hawley, where Morrie farmed and raised dairy cattle. He was a hard worker and was a perfectionist when it came to farming. He continued to be involved in the dairy business until he was 80 years old. Morrie always enjoyed a hot cup of coffee and fried chicken dinners. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, and always enjoyed a good joke. He is survived by two sons, Kevin Kasin of Hawley, MN, Mark Kasin of Hawley, MN; two daughters, Susan Paul Malakowsky of Hawley, MN, and Sandy Jon Reese, Otsego, MN; one brother, Kenneth "Junior" Kasin of Hawley, MN; one sister, Doris Bud Simenson of Hawley, MN; six grandchildren, Samantha Todd, Cassandra, Daniel, Scott, Bryce and Devin; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Caroline. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol.
