Maurice P. Bolgrean

Maurice P. Bolgrean, 93, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Saturday, March 17 at Eventide Assisted Living.  Maurice, son of Clarence W. and Anna F. (Durensky) Bolgrean was born on the family farm in Atherton Township on June 23, 1924 near Barnesville. He attended country school and Barnesville High School.  Maurice served in the U.S. Army in WWII in Germany from 1946 to 1948.  On May 22, 1954 Maurice married Estelle Rouland at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville. They made their first home in Fargo where they started their family.  Maurice worked as a boiler engineer at Lincoln Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Fargo for 35 years until his retirement in 1990. Along with that, he also did some farming & gardening and kept busy with his carpentry work and other odd jobs.  Maurice and his wife were co-owners of the Galaxy Supper Club in Barnesville where they enjoyed many weekend evenings doing what they loved most, dancing. Another family past-time was spending time at their lake cabin on Lake Lizzie.  Maurice was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead. He was also a member of the Barnesville VFW and American Legion.

Maurice will be dearly missed by his surviving children and grandchildren, Timothy (Cindy) Bolgrean, Roslynn Bolgrean, Michael (Kristi) Bolgrean, Jennifer (Steven) Schreiner, Rebecca (Jerry) Hennessey, Gregory Bolgrean, Johnathan Bolgrean, Robert (Suzanne) Bolgrean, and Patrick Bolgrean; grandchildren, Justin (Jesse) Bolgrean, Loralie Bolgrean, Joshua Bolgrean, Sheena (Brian) Lee, Alex Bolgrean, Michaella Bolgrean, Maycee Bolgrean, Shaun Schreiner, Devon (Katie) Schreiner, Caitlin (Alaric) Heying, Jill (Wesley) Ness, Holly (Tim) Thompson, Kayla (Cody) Johnson, Shane Hennessey, Noah Bolgrean, Laura Bolgrean, Kailie Bolgrean, and Brady Bolgrean; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Maurice was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle; infant daughter, Mary Estelle; Grandchildren, Jessica and Alyssa Schreiner, Hayley and Lindsey Bolgrean, Luke and Hannah Bolgrean; parents; Clarence and Anna; brothers, Albert, Clifford, Clarence Jr., Arnold, Norman, Lloyd, Loren; and sister, Shirley.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 20, from 5-7PM with a prayer service at 7PM at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, March 21, at 11AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN.

Interment: St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Barnesville, MN.
