Max E. Andresen

March 5, 1937 — March 1, 2016

Max Eugene Andresen, 78, Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 while surrounded by his caring family.

Max was born on March 5th, 1937 to Henry and Retta Smith Andresen in Dunlap, Iowa. He was one of 7 children. Max grew up on a farm and learned how to work with his hands. He went to Missouri Valley High School in Missouri Valley, IA. He later enlisted in the Army Reserves. After basic training, he met his wife of 55 years, Frances Huff. They were married on February 4, 1960 at Church of Christ in Missouri Valley, IA.

After marrying, Max and Fran moved to Council Bluffs, IA where they started a family. They raised two boys and one girl. In the early 1960’s, Max worked as a boiler engineer in Omaha, NE. He also worked for Concordia College and retired in 2002 after 25 years of service.

Max was very much a leader and had a quiet spirit about him. He loved his family and friends deeply. He was very creative and resourceful and could literally fix and repair any piece of machinery. Max had a love for farm machinery and restoring it. People referred to him as Magical Max.
The most important thing in his life was when he received Christ as his Savior in September of 1961. His life was forever changed and changes were very obvious in how he lived his life.

Max will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Fran of 55 years and 3 children: Randal Deborah, Council Bluff, IA, Rhonda Jon Woltmann, Fargo, ND, Rolly Marietta, Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. We rejoice that Max is in heaven and is cancer free.

Max was preceded in death by his father and mother, and 2 brothers-in-law.

The family of Max would like to send heart- felt thanks to those who prayed for us while on this journey, the friends and family who visited, and the kindness and support from the staff of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
