Max M. Heiberg, age 74, of Hawley, MN, died, Sunday, July 3, 2011, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.Max Mitchell Heiberg was born on April 6, 1937 to Alfred and Maymie Depuis Heiberg in rural Fosston, MN. He grew up and attended school in Hawley, graduating from Hawley High School in 1957. Max enlisted in the United States Army in 1957, serving as a Paratrooper. During his time in the United States Army, he served for two years in Germany. Max was honorably discharged in 1960 with a rank of Sergeant. He then attended the University of Minnesota for two years studying business. He owned Standard Supply for 20 years. He worked for Johnson Screen Company till retirement in 2001. After his retirement, Max moved from Minneapolis to Hawley where he has resided since. Max enjoyed spending time at the casino, fishing, playing guitar and singing. He also enjoyed his cat, Camille. Max will be missed by those who knew him.He is survived by four sisters, Mary Pearson of Hawley, MN, Laura Braseth of Minneapolis, MN, Flora Braseth of Darwin, MN and Irene Carter of Des Moines, IA: one brother, Alfred Heiberg of Hawley, MN. And by many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Helmer and Lawrence Heiberg and infant brother and sister, Leonard and Myrtle Heiberg.
