Maxine was born February 2, 1929, in Brown County, South Dakota. As a baby she moved to Fargo, ND, where she grew up and attended school. At age nine, she became an orphan and over the years had many foster parents. She graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1946 at the age of 16. On November 26, 1955, she married Marcel Fairbanks in Moorhead and together they started a family. She worked for two years at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company and later retired from North Dakota State Seed Department after working 45 years. As a young woman Maxine enjoyed bowling and being secretary to the Moorhead VFW Auxiliary. In later years Maxine enjoyed traveling on the East Coast. She will be missed greatly by her grandchildren and their friends whom she enjoyed watching grow and following their activities in church and school.She was very involved with the quilter's and fellowship at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead. She also enjoyed ceramics and oil painting, but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.Maxine has four children, Lara James Weber, Rocky Point, NY, Michael Deborahe Fairbanks, Moorhead, MN, Patty John Welsch, Moorhead, MN and Marcie Ronald Felix, Moorhead, MN. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Alexis and Emily Weber; Jonathon, Victor, Veronica, Adam and Brandon Fairbanks; Alissa and Lucas Franck; and Jedediah and Anna Felix.She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel; and sisters, Beverly Wells and Judith Jeral.
