Maxine F. Schultz

Maxine F. Schultz, 88, Moorhead, Minn, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Sanford Medical Center after a short illness.

Maxine Fern Champ was born on June 6, 1924 in Baker, MN town named after her great-grandfather to Lynn and Gladys Lamb Champ. She attended schools in the Comstock area and in 1942 graduated from Glyndon High School. She attended Moorhead State Teachers College. After a brief teaching career she was employed by the Olson Seed & Feed Company of Moorhead. She was united in marriage to Paul B. Schultz, September 6, 1952. They lived in Glyndon and farmed south of town until Paul’s death. She was later a resident at both The Fairmont and Eventide.
Maxine loved sewing and was involved in many style and fashion shows for community, school and church. She was also a very active member of the Glyndon Congregational UCC, serving as Sunday School teacher, on women’s groups and for many years was the church bazaar chairperson. She was a giving person who loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter and their families: Steven Joleen Schultz of Dubuque, IA and their sons Nathan and Christopher of Cedar Falls, IA; Rick Linda Schultz of Glyndon, MN and their daughters Allecia Stephan Shoemaker, Milwaukie, Or., Chelsea Trevor Keller, Fargo, ND and Cassie Schultz of Glyndon; Mary Mike Moeller, of Lake Park, MN and their children Jesse of Cambridge, MA, Bonnie of Brookings, SD and Douglas of Moorhead, MN. She is also survived by her two brothers, Wayne Champ, Glyndon, MN and Dale Champ of Elbow Lake, MN; and two sisters, Jean Olson, Fargo, ND and Lola Pereley Clelland, Pierre, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, son Robert Bob Schultz and her parents.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 pm, with a prayer service at 4 pm, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. The funeral will be 2pm, Monday at Bottlofson Chapel at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead. Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
