Melba “Dots” I. Hagen

Melba “Dots” Hagen, age 95, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, March 30^th, 2018 at Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.

Melba Irene Petermann was born on January 28, 1923, to Emil and Helen (Reidberger) Petermann in Hawley, MN, where she spent her childhood. She married Donald Hagen on April 11, 1945 in Portland, OR. They moved back to Moorhead, where they spent many years. After Don retired, they moved to Lake Sybil in rural Vergas, MN, where they loved spending time with their family and enjoying nature. When Don passed in 2003, Dots continued to live at the lake for a few years before moving back into Moorhead.

Dots loved being outdoors, especially at the lake, where she would spend time fishing or sitting around a bonfire. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, visiting with her friends, and rooting for the Bison and Vikings. She was passionate about being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lamb of Pelican Rapids, MN; grandsons, Alex (Aubrey) Lamb of Phoenix, AZ, Zack (Courtney) Lamb of Phoenix, and Brian (Jessica) Rust of Argusville, ND; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lorilee Petermann; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; son, Keith Hagen; all her siblings; and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7^th, 2018, at 3:00PM with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
