Melva J. England

Melva Joyce England, 87, of Glyndon, MN, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on her birthday, August 16, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Melva was born at home in Brisbane, ND, to Benhard and Nettie Danielson Twite. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Carson, ND.

In 1952, Melva married Edward England while he was stationed at Camp Atterbury in Columbus, IN. They made their home in Glyndon, MN where they raised their family.

Melva worked at the Glyndon Senior Center and Greenleaf Market. She was also very active in the community and church as she was part of several clubs including Ladies VFW Auxiliary, the Lioness Club, and Maranatha WMF. She absolutely loved gardening, had the great gift of hospitality, and all were welcome in her home and in her life. Her greatest love was the Lord Jesus and spending time with family and enjoying all their activities.

Melva is survived by daughters, Bonnie Cary Eastvold, Joyce Roger Zetocha Johnson, Lila Tom Ebner, Jennifer Stewart Bjorhus, Jayne John Nelson Stenstad; son, Allan Linda England; sisters, Lillian Lenard Bachmeier, Lila Bob Hayes, Rose Bert Gerhart, Sherry Dennis Erickson; brother-in-law, Duane Voigt; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Twite, Lorraine England; grandchildren, Jonathan Jamie and Benjamin Amanda Eastvold, Jarred Amy and Joshua Cory Johnson, Jeremy Kristen, Daniel and Sarah Ebner, Rachel Tony Rydberg, Tyler Lydia, Jordan Katie and Jacob Bjorhus, Olivia, Aleksander and Clay Stenstad, Cody, Makalia and Megan England; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Samuel and Emma Eastvold, Tracey, Brodey, Reed, Clay and Titus Johnson, Noah and Kennedy Ebner, Isaak, Carson and Elliott Bjorhus.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Clay Johnson; grandson, Travis Johnson and great-granddaughter, Cadence Grace Ebner; brothers, Alvin and Ben Twite; sisters Alma Voigt and Grace Scantlin.

Visitation: August 19, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church, Glyndon, MN

Funeral: August 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior to service in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church, Glyndon, MN.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
