Melvin J. Briks

Melvin was born February 28, 1936 at Breckenridge, MN, the son of Joseph and Maude Maier Briks. He attended a country school outside of Rothsay, MN. Melvin took over the family farm upon the death of his father. On February 2, 1957, he married Janice Helgeson in Kent, MN. Melvin continued to farm until the early 1970's when he went to work for Eid-Co in Fargo, ND until 1989. He became co-owner of P&M Concrete and later opened Action Mudjacking.Melvin and Janice enjoyed making crafts and spending time at the lake. Melvin always had time to go hunting, fishing, and to tell a few stories about it. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice; three daughters, Barb Steve Kreps, of Moorhead, MN, Sandy Kevin Maesse of Wolverton, MN, Cheryl Pat Jaquin, of Fargo, ND; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Angie, Brad, Travis and Blake; four great-grandchildren, Mallory, Olivia, Gabriel, Xander and little Jake on the way.Melvin was preceded in death by his parents. Due to severe allergies, the family requests no flowers.
